Richard Haworth

Richard Haworth qualified in Veterinary medicine from the University of Cambridge in 1991 and later completed a DPhil at Oxford in experimental pathology and immunology. He is board certified in veterinary pathology (ECVP, FRCPath).
Since then he has worked at GlaxoWellcome, subsequently GlaxoSmithKline, as a toxicologic pathologist, examining, interpreting and reporting short and long term toxicity studies. In 2014, Richard became Head of the UK Pathology department within GSK, R&D.
He provides pathology and toxicology expertise to biopharmaceutical, cell therapy and small molecule R&D teams and designs and peer reviews a wide range of studies. He has key responsibility for writing pathology reports and reviewing toxicology reports for submission to regulatory authorities (e.g. FDA, MHRA, EMA). He has a keen interest in ensuring use of accurate and clearly understood language in reports and also in written responses to regulatory questions.
